“This is my 9th season here, we have had so many amazing experiences together. I have a special feeling for this club. That’s why I’m happy to be here for another two seasons.
“Thank you to everyone who still believes in me and supports me: The owners, Chairman Khaldoon (Al Mubarak), Ferran, Cheeki, the players and of course the fans. Everyone who is connected to Manchester City, it is an honour and a privilege to be here.
“I’ve said it many times before but I want to say it again: I have everything a manager could want. I’m very impressed with that.
“Hopefully now we can add more trophies to the club, that’s my goal.”
The new deal could see Guardiola complete more than a decade in charge of the club, having arrived at Man City on 1 July 2016 when he replaced Manuel Pellegrini.
Guardiola has won 18 major trophies in his eight full seasons at City so far, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League. The latter was achieved in the club’s historic Treble-winning season of 2022/23.
